T. White Parker to Present Strategy
at HUD Initiative's National Training Conference
Herndon, VA. July 1, 2007. T. White Parker will present its approach to conducting a SWOT analysis at the Neighborhood Networks National Training Conference in Washington, D.C. August 8 - 10, 2007. Neighborhood Networks is a federal initiative created by The U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
HUD's Office of Multifamily Housing created Neighborhood Networks in 1995 as one of the first federal initiatives to promote self-sufficiency and provide computer access to low-income housing communities. In 2001, Congress created the Public Housing Neighborhood Networks program as a counterpart to the Multifamily Housing initiative. The Neighborhood Networks program includes a Strategic Tracking and Reporting Tool (START) to help centers to create a roadmap to greater sustainability as they move toward the future.
During the conference, T. White Parker President and Founder, Tanaia Parker, will present the workshop "Plan, Plan and More Planning - Conducting a SWOT Analysis." The discussion will include the benefits of organizational, business and strategic planning, and address how a SWOT analysis can help Neighborhood Networks center managers to plan, develop, track, and evaluate their center's budget, operations and organizational performance in relation to START. A detailed walk through of the mechanics of conducting a SWOT analysis will take place to help centers identify internal strengths and weaknesses, and leverage opportunities for growth. Centers will learn how to spot external threats and devise tactics required to neutralize them.
The National Training Conference will be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel August 8 - 10. T. White Parker's workshop, "Plan, Plan and More Planning," will take place Thursday, August 9, from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
